Course Objectives The course is designed to provide students with main principles, challenges and outcomes of sustainability along with core concepts and theories of ethics. The students will gain knowledge on sustainable development and decision making by examining business cases and examples. They will learn to identify, define and solve ethical problems at businesses and gain knowledge on ethical behavior and leadership.
Learning Outcomes The students who succeeded in this course;
  • Discuss the importance of sustainability in the current business environment.
  • Explain the interests of different stakeholders and how they influence sustainability.
  • Describe the role of economics, environment and society in making decisions regarding sustainability.
  • Discuss worldwide emerging trends and issues related to sustainability.
  • Describe effective business models that incorporate principles of sustainability.
  • Define ethical issues at business settings.
  • Develop solutions to ethical problems at business environments.
  • Define ethical leadership.
Course Description This course incorporates main concepts, principles, and challenges of sustainability; examines its outcomes on economics, environment and society; and includes examples of business cases that incorporate principles of sustainability; define ethical responsibilities of businesses for the employees, customers, society and the environment.
